Róisín Tapponi is the Founder of Habibi CollectiveSHASHA MoviesART WORK Magazine , and the Independent Iraqi Film Festival (IIFF). She is a film curator, writer and recipient of the ‘World-Leading PhD Scholarship in Art History’ at St. Andrews University.

She has curated exhibitions and film screenings at MoMA, MAAT, Chisenhale Gallery, Gasworks, Sharjah Art Foundation and many others; including grassroots and community venues. She is a writer at Frieze, and upcoming publications include the catalogue for the French Pavilion at Venice Biennale 2022.

Her PhD explores decolonial archiving practices, encompassing indigenous and feminist image production in South-West Asia and North Africa. She completed her BA Comparative Literature (with Arabic and Italian) and MA Art History at UCL.
