Over the past four years of working at The Slade my concerns have been of the figure and landscape, encompassing the notion of place being made up of both situation and inhabitants. This is a particular concern in my paintings of Bournemouth beach, ni that, as a seaside resort it is deserted out of season. In my pictures of London meanwhile, I attempt to explore the impersonality of an over-crowded city.
