A curtain of clothes.

Artists Statement:
At present my main concerns are with the division between 'the inside and outside'. I am exploring the boundaries between the public and the private space, through the relation of skin, clothes and curtains.

We can see lots of partition in our daily life. Normally, people's perception of a partition is something very strong, like a wall. On the other hand, in my opinion, the real partition is a more elastic material like our skin. Even the piece of cloth could make a complete wall to separate two totally different worlds. It looks very weak and fragile, however it serves the function of sustaining our lives. In addition, I think it is not only a reason of physical partition but also spiritual partition. Then, a more interesting thing is the existence of a thin layer of curtain as the spiritual division. The curtain over the window reminds me of undergarments of women which provide a sense of security.

Also, I felt the window is the most accessible point in a house. With a window as a medium of division, we can either look out of the window to the outside world or vice versa. On my latest work, I found the same feeling between the idea of eating and the function of windows. I think eating is like taking the outside world into the body, which is a very private space.
