Anja Borowicz
Anja's interests centre around our encounters of spatial situations, sense of identity and home. Her practice takes form of mise-en-sc`ne arrangements that overlap the languages of sculpture, performance and architecture. Recent works investigate possibilities of negotiating oneself over multiple structures and layers of activities. Loss of fixed site (home‑less‑ness) is offset by mapping out temporal situations using subtle interventions and performative gestures. Cleaning and beauty products are used to demarcate personal spaces. De‑constructed and re-constructed clothes and packaging become "emaciated" sculptural forms that can no longer shield an anonymous body. Spaces of domestic activity, intellectual investigation and artistic gesture become superimposed on top of one another.
