Sensation is at the root of experience. The sensation of a hand as it is pulled through water, the lightness of a cool mist against the cheek, the first intake of breath on a cold January morning. While memories of these sensations are specific to the individual, they also reflect a common and shared experience of landscape. Using abstraction and paint, I attempt to create a visual platform for the viewer to reexperience these ephemeral sensations of the landscape.
