Information About Release TSAC003 - Channels
The third release from The Slade Audio Club features artists Sara Bjarland and Naheed Raza. Through
the entirety of the album Bjarland and Raza alternate tracks, shifting the listener between unique
aural landscapes. Ingrained in the compositions is each artists' creative, working process. The pop of
a plastic bubble, the crash of a pile of glass, the simple snip of a piece of string are examples of the
sound that reverently tell of the artists' intention of it's making. Each focus, each fracture embody
those thoughtful and often playful observations, but at the same time also offer something much
more ambiguous and challenging when presented as a whole. Challenge aside, Channels remains a
interesting and entertaining sonic journal which provides listeners a glimpse into the workings and
wonderings of Bjarland and Raza.
About The Slade Audio Club (^top)
The Slade is now a record label.
If you work in any form of audio; whether it be in acoustic installation, being a member of some local dancetastic electroclash band, working and recording as a noise artist, or moonlighting as an arranger of classical or contemporary orchestral compositions... anything goes!
Limited-editioned releases will be created from work generated by the chosen artists. These releases will not be mish-mash compilations of various works, but carefully selected individual or small group (split EP-style) works.
Following the final selection and completion of the audio, the work will then be released as a limted-edition compact disc with the artwork and packaging designed by the artist(s) featured.
After the pressing and packaging of each compact disc is completed a "release party" will be scheduled. At the event the featured artist(s) is invited to perform the audio if they wish to do so.
