13 September, 2017 SINCERE publishes a new report on environmental footprints between China and the EU  A new study, published in the Journal of Cleaner Production, finds that China's overall footprint is higher than the EU countries, but its per capital footprint is smaller than those in EU.  > view article

15-18 September, 2017 All-partner meeting in London University College London will host the next SINCERE all-partner meeting in London on 15-18 September. Partners will present recent findings, and in particular discuss scenarios for a circular economy in China and Europe as well as early modelling results. The project will also invite a other scholars working on these issues to join the discussions. > view article

11 May, 2017  Economic growth continues to drive material use in Western Europe, according to new research from SINCERE SINCERE's Paolo Agnolucci and Florian Flachenecker published ‘The causal impact of economic growth on material use in Europe’ in the Journal of Environmental Economics and Policy. Their important study suggests that Western European economies have not yet managed to ‘decouple’ material use from economic growth, implying more ambitious efforts are needed to break the link between the two variables and make progress towards greater resource efficiency. > view article

4 May, 2017 New paper on the Circular Economy Policies in China and Europe SINCERE researchers have published a paper that shows there are differences in the way in which the term is understood in China and Europe: the Chinese ‘version’ of a CE places greater emphasis on industrial pollution, whereas European discourse emphasises new business opportunities, arising from resource efficiency and waste recycling. > view article

24 April, 2017 UNU-MERIT host project workshop Researchers from China and Europe met in Maastricht on 24 April 2017 to discuss research related to the SINCERE project. 13-14 Oct, 2016 Advances in the Modelling of Innovation and Finance in Macroeconomic Models Experts from several research projects met in Paris to discuss the Advances in the Modelling of Innovation and Finance in Macroeconomic Models. The meeting was attended by members of the GREEN-WIN, SINCERE, INNOPATHS, RIPPLES and CIRCLE research projects with the aim of understanding and sharing practical experiences and difficulties involved in implementing such innovation modelling. > view article

11-13 Oct, 2016 MINES ParisTech host SINCERE partners meeting MINES ParisTech hosted the second partners meeting on 11-13 October, 2016. SINCERE partners and advisory board members from Europe and China met in Paris to discuss progress and early results from the project. > view article

12-16 October, 2015 First Partners meeting The first International Workshop on the Green Economy to be held in Shanghai this October. This workshop will be hosted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and will offer a platform for professional exchange of knowledge and experience related to green economy between all the project partners.  > view article
