On this two-day course for 14-to-18-year-olds you'll explore art making using a range of materials and creative methods.
You'll be part of a group of young artists and have the chance to talk about your ideas in the Slade studio.
This course is run by the Slade School of Fine Art at UCL.
You'll learn through making, developing your ideas through a series of exercises. This will cover:
- experimental drawing
You'll work with two different tutors and be introduced to contemporary artists and their approach to making.
There will be a particular focus on developing your portfolio for further education, whatever that may be.
Who this course is for
This course is suitable for all levels of experience. You don't need any prior experience.
You must be between 14 and 18 years old.
You can request an attendance certificate after completing the course. These can only be supplied during the year you take the course and can't be produced retrospectively.
This course costs £165.
The fee covers tuition, provision of an easel, palette and drawing board, and studio space.
It does not include materials except drawing supplies for the first session of each course. Once you've been accepted onto the course you'll be sent details of the materials you'll need to supply yourself.
To book your place on this course, you'll need to send the following two documents to email@example.com
- A letter from your art teacher, head of art, head of year or equivalent at your school stating your suitability for the course
- A letter from your parent or guardian confirming that you will have appropriate accommodation for the duration of the course, and that personal liability and contents insurance has been set up for you
