ELCSGG01 - Language, Culture and History
Value: 30 credits

Convenor: Professor Mairéad Hanrahan
Teaching structure: Two hour seminar (Wednesdays 2 - 4pm) for 10 weeks
Assessment: Two 3,000 words essays (first essay 40% and second essay 60%)
This core course is a requirement on all the language pathways of the MA in Language, Culture and History.

These seminars may focus particularly on the culture, history and literature of one or two of the languages taught in this MA. For their assessment, students will have the opportunity to consider the topic involved as it applies to the language of their choice: Catalan, Danish, Dutch, French, Galician, German, Icelandic, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish.
