PhD research:

In my PhD project, charting an alternative history of postmodernism, I examine the tension between sexuality and literary texts in the narratives of J.M. Coetzee, Milan Kundera, Philip Roth and Mario Vargas Llosa. In particular, using the Quixotic interplay between life and fiction as a theoretical framework, I focus on self-reflexivity as a means to explore how literary models rooted in our cultural memory affect our understanding of masculinity.

Research Interests:

Comparative Literature; 20th and 21st century literature, Latin American literature, Italian Literature, European Modernism (Musil, Gombrowicz, Broch, Kafka), Postmodernism, Don Quixote, North-American Literature.
