Ulrich Tiedau is a historian and digital humanist. He has worked on and across the borders of humanities and communication technologies for most of his professional life and published widely on Belgian, Dutch and German history as well as on distance education and digital scholarship.
He is an Associate Director of the UCL Centre for Digital Humanities and currently holds a development grant within the release strand of the Open Educational Resources programme of JISC and the HE Academy.
He also serves as principal editor of Dutch Crossing: Journal of Low Countries Studies which in December 2009 has been awarded an honourable mention in the Phoenix Prize for Significant Editorial Achievement by the Council of Editors of Learned Journals, and is a co-covenor of the Low Countries history research seminars at the Institute of Historical Research (IHR).
