Whether you're looking to support groundbreaking research, contribute data or expertise, or provide internships and equipment, we can help you make an impact.

What are we looking for in our partners?
We are committed to building strong collaborations with organisations across the public and private sectors. Our existing partners include a broad range of public and private sector leading organisations such as including the UK Home Office, Amazon, Yorkshire Water, AlbionVC, and many others. We wish to partner with organisations that can help fund or otherwise contribute tangibly to the work of the CDT. Our partners help build capacity in this area of national importance.
Together we will fulfil the need for trained experts capable of addressing the challenges posed by hybrid threats (i.e. threats that spread across both cyber and physical spaces, including the emerging metaverse) and develop novel techniques to pre-empt them.
What does it cost to fund a PhD researcher at the CDT?
A four year fully funded (UK) PhD studentship will cost approx. £130,000. In some cases we may be able to offer part-funded studentships at a 50:50 share with the partner i.e. the partner will be expected to fund £65,000.
What ways of non-financial collaboration are possible?
- Partners can contribute by providing the following:
- Providing data for research
- Offering access to real world expertise
- Providing access labs or equipment
- Offering internships opportunities
- Sharing insights into commercial practices
- Supporting dissemination opportunities
- Creating pathways to impact
How our partners benefit?
Our partners shape the agenda for this national research centre and have the opportunity to co-design key research projects with our students and faculty. They work with some of the brightest minds in the cyber-physical security fields space, at one of the world’s top universities, on topics that align with their own priorities, often from an early stage of the research.
Partners get involved at the cutting edge of this important domain, and are invited to regular events, conferences, and advisory meetings, offering an opportunity to learn from other partners. They also benefit from the investment in infrastructure already in place at UCL for this type of research (including several high-performance labs and facilities), and the expertise of leading scientists in the field.
