The paper was coauthored by Andreas Haslebacher (MSc in Forensic Sciences), Jeremiah Onaolapo (PhD in Computer Science) and Dr Gianluca Stringhini (Lecturer, UCL Computer Science and UCL Security and Crime Science). In this research the authors studied five online forums on which cybercriminals trade stolen financial goods (e.g., credit card numbers and online banking credentials). The paper uncovers the dynamics of such forums, showing that a small number of criminals are responsible for the vast majority of the sale activity.
