Find out more about our new postgraduate research programme and how to apply

Cyber-physical risk

The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Cyber-physical risk is a national centre of excellence led by the UCL Security and Crime Science (SCS) and UCL Computer Science (CS). Both departments have a longstanding collaboration in delivering high-quality research training, including through two other EPSRC CDTs in Security Science (2010) and in Cyber-Security (2018).

Programme description

Our four-year postgraduate research programme will provide students with a broad range of competencies to anticipate and manage criminal and security threats that develop jointly across the cyber and physical spaces in increasingly digital societies.

The students on this programme will study cyber-physical risk through different disciplinary lenses and conduct advanced research at the intersection between multiple domains: 1) futures, 2) online communication, 3) cyber-physical systems, and 4) simulation and Interaction.

By being embedded into multidisciplinary cohorts, students will progressively develop an acute awareness of the wider issues and dilemmas posed by hybrid threats in democratic societies, as well as complementary professional skills for their future careers.

How to apply

Applications will be open in the coming months via our dedicated UCL website. Please check this page regularly for updates.
