PhD student, University College London

Project Title

Building Information Models from Monitoring and Simulation Data in Heritage Buildings

Background & Summary of Project

Danae Pocobelli is a 4th year SEAHA student based at UCL. She holds a Bachelor + Master’s degree in Building Engineering and Architecture, awarded by Sapienza University of Rome. Her project aims to support stakeholders through Building Information Modelling. A BIM model – enhanced with the integration of a weathering forecasting model – will give detailed information on possible degradation patterns. This information can be effectively used to plan both ordinary and extraordinary maintenance. Through the development of a new methodology – with management needs and cost containment considerations – we aim to develop a strategy that helps maintaining and conserving our built heritage.
