Project Title
Lighting Policies for Collections using Microfadeometry
Background & Summary of Project
The project “Lighting Policies for Collections using Microfadeometry” explores the potential of microfading – a micro-destructive technique to assess the light sensitivity of collection items – to develop object- and collection-specific lighting policies. The project aims to contribute to the day-to-day decision-making of collection care specialists in collecting institutions, e.g. when planning and realising exhibitions.
Betty is a conservator, who has worked in museums and galleries both in the UK and abroad. She runs a preventive conservation consultancy, which includes light sensitivity assessments of collection items using microfading.
