UCL SLMS is led by the Vice Provost (Health), Professor David Lomas
The Office of the Vice Provost (Health) is responsible for:
- external relationships in biomedicine both with NHS partners, including UCL Partners, other health care trusts and NHS London, and with a range of medical research organisations
- UCL's participation in the establishment of the Francis Crick Institute
- facilitating cross-cutting initiatives in biomedicine, in consultation with the Deans of the Faculties of Brain Sciences, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Population Health Sciences
There are a number of SLMS-level teams working within OVPH to help achieve our strategic priorities:
Promoting, supporting and developing all aspects of academic and clinical academic careers
Supporting and developing clinical research through the provision and management of dedicated expertise and infrastructure.
Working across SLMS and UCL to coordinate our major partnerships, and providing project management expertise.
Enhancing biomedical translation and enterprise at UCL through integrated support in building a translational portfolio, establishing industrial partnerships and developing drug discovery
Implementing the SLMS communication strategy, managing internal and external communication
Providing a modern, professional and effective financial service - delivering timely management information on SLMS' financial position
Co-ordinating and developing strategic research initiatives and facilitating research funding applications
Staffing and office management
Ensuring the smooth running of a busy and dynamic office
