UCL Humanitarian Scholarships now open for applications

UCL has launched a new scholarship aimed at supporting students who may be at serious risk and/or displaced due to armed conflict across the world.

Now open for applications, the UCL Humanitarian Scholarship offers prospective international students financial support to pursue postgraduate study. This includes tuition fees, living expenses, return flights and additional costs such as visa fees. At a cost of nearly £900,000 to the university, the scheme aims to help fund dedicated resources that may help support international students maximise their chances of succeeding during their time at UCL.
Up to four scholarships are available for the 2025/26 academic year. Candidates can be from any country outside the UK, but must meet the following criteria:
be at serious risk as a direct result of armed conflict and/or
displaced from their home country within the last three years due to armed conflict
come from a lower income background.*
The UCL Humanitarian Scholarship is just one of a number of different financial support schemes available to students. The UCL Access Opportunity Scholarship is open to asylum seekers or refugees who wish to study their undergraduate degree, while UCL Global Scholarships provide financial support for international students from lower income backgrounds.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by the UCL Student Funding Office to provide evidence of financial need and Refugee Status or Humanitarian Protection. Successful candidates will be informed in June.
