The scholarship has had a significant impact on my personal development. I highly recommend applying for the ROS Scholarship as it will help you network with the academic and broader community through placements such as the Brilliant Club and Leadership in Action. Being part of the ROS scholarship community is enlightening, engaging and most importantly, highly rewarding.

ROS has been an amazing way for me to connect with fellow BAME researchers in other departments and develop long-lasting friendships with like-minded people throughout the first year of my PhD. Since getting the ROS I have been able to conduct my research without financial worries and have been able to access technology crucial to making progress on my project.ROS is very interested and invested in who you are as an individual.

I have thoroughly appreciated the mentorship from the programme. This has been a great source of encouragement and a way to practice being present and enjoy the PhD journey with its challenges. It also helps me develop my problem-solving and organisation skills. The fund is an excellent way for groups that have historically been marginalised to gain access to a renowned institution and to develop their interests and skills.

Having studied at the University of Birmingham for my BA and MA, moving to London would open up more more opportunities andbroaden my intellectual network. Crucially, of course, I recieved a funding offer from UCL. Alongside the financial support granted, I have been able to take advantage of a number of professional networking opportunities and have recieved additional mentoring.
