Offered in conjunction with the Amjad and Suha Bseisu Foundation, this award aims to assist students from Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine or Syria to study specific Master's programmes at UCL.
Eligibility
Candidates must fulfil all of the following criteria:
- be a refugee from, or domicilied in, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine or Syria
- be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship;
AND have submitted an admission application for a full-time one-year Master's degree in one of the following programmes at UCL for 2025/26:
Value, benefits, and duration
- There is 1 (one) scholarship available in 2025/26.
- The value of the scholarship is £63,300.
- The scholarship is tenable for one year only and for the listed one-year programmes only.
- Scholarship recipients are obliged to inform the UCL Student Funding Office immediately of any other funding they are awarded towards their UCL Master’s degree studies, before or subsequent to the Bseisu-UCL Scholarship award.
- The scholarship will first be applied to the recipient’s tuition fees, with any remainder payable to the recipient in three equal instalments throughout the academic year towards maintenance.
Selection
The scholarship is awarded on the basis of financial need and upon the recommendation of the Student Funding Office, with a first preference being for an applicant holding refugee status.
