Mobile access towers training
Attendance at this practical instructor-led course will enable you to safely erect, move, inspect and dismantle various types of Mobile Access Towers.
Course description
If you are responsible for assembling, dismantling, moving or using mobile access towers (scaffold towers), you must be trained and competent to do so. Attendance at this practical instructor-led course will enable you to safely erect, move, and dismantle various types of Mobile Access Towers.
You are required to bring with you to the training event:
- Your own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the form of safety helmet, boots, gloves and a high-visibility jacket.
- National Insurance Number in order to receive the PASMA certificate and ID card.
Before attending the training, you should refer to the Health Checklist to confirm that you are fit to undertake this training.
Please note that refreshments are provided but lunch is not.
All safety instructor-led training courses are delivered by our team of safety experts.
Objectives
Attendance at this course will give you an awareness of the following:
- Legislation, regulations and guidance affecting working at height with mobile access towers.
- The PASMA Code of Practice.
- Product Standards EN 1004:2004, assembling, altering and dismantling towers incorporating current best practice for fall protection, an inspection of completed mobile access towers and completion of Tower Inspection Records.
- Hazards affecting the use of mobile access towers and how to avoid them.
Target audience
Staff who use, erect and inspect mobile access towers, such as technicians, maintenance and electrical fitters, student exhibition assistants, studio managers.
Cost
Training courses are free to UCL staff however your Department will be charged £50 if you fail to attend when booked on a course. Non-attendance at first aid courses will incur a higher non-attendance fee.
