New training for Departmental Safety Officers

Safety Services has launched a new training programme for Departmental Safety Officers — get the essential skills you need to manage safety in your department with a new blended learning approach.

Safety Services is pleased to announce the launch of a refreshed training programme for Departmental Safety Officers (DSOs).

The DSO Development Programme is a time-limited opportunity designed to give you a valuable refresher and the practical skills you need to manage safety confidently and effectively. It is not an induction course, but a chance to update your knowledge and connect with new resources.

How the training works

The DSO Development Programme has two key components:

Online resources: A suite of online modules to deepen your knowledge. While completing these modules is not mandatory for attending the workshop, we highly recommend exploring them to get the most value from the programme.
Live workshop: Attend one of our half-day, interactive workshops, they are a great chance to ask questions and discuss challenges with your peers.

The workshop

This hands-on workshop is designed to build confidence in applying safety principles to real-world scenarios through practical activities and group discussions.
