Mandatory safety training: Is your department compliant?

Mandatory safety training

Recent data indicates a decline in mandatory safety training compliance. This could be due to the three-year refresh cycle for both UCL Safety Induction and UCL Fire Safety courses, meaning many staff are due for recertification.

Please remind your teams about the mandatory nature of these courses and the need to recertify every three years. New staff should complete both training courses as soon as they join. When individuals receive recertification reminders, please encourage them to complete the training.

Monitoring resources

• Inside UCL: Managers can easily check the training status for their team members using the "My Team" function within the Inside UCL app.
• Mandatory Training SharePoint site: Heads of Department and Departmental Administrators can access faculty-wide compliance data on the Mandatory Training SharePoint site.
• Mandatory Training Compliance dashboard: Compliance data across faculties and departments that is refreshed every weekday is available on the Mandatory Training Compliance dashboard (access requests via MyServices).

Other safety training

Looking for completion records for other safety training courses offered by UCL?  To obtain a report on specific safety training completion within your department, send an email to safetytraining@ucl.ac.uk.  In your email, please specify the following details:

• Course name: The specific safety training course you'd like a report on.
• Time period: The timeframe for which you'd like completion data (e.g. last 6 months, past year).
• Department: Your department name and organisation ID.

The Safety Training team will then generate a report reflecting the requested information.
