Review local COVID-19 risk assessments

As staff and students return to campus, local risk assessments need to be reviewed.
As staff and students return to campus, everybody must follow the most up-to-date COVID-19 safety measures, which currently include washing your hands frequently, covering your face, and wherever possible reduce contact between people.

Risk assessment
Local (departmental) risk assessments based on a UCL generic risk assessment must be reviewed and changes made in accordance with the revised generic risk assessment. We have simplified this process to make it easier.

Workstation assessment
All staff should complete their Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessment to ensure that your workstation is suitable for you.
Managers have a key role in resolving issues that may be highlighted within the Workstation Assessments of their team. Refer to Manager's role in the DSE process.
Return to UCL induction training
Before returning to work you must refresh your online training by completing the Return to UCL Induction, which has been updated to reflect the Government roadmap. If you have previously completed the course, you can also take this updated course as a refresher to ensure that you’re up to date.
Reporting of building faults and maintenance requests
Staff are reminded that maintenance or service requests and other requests to address building issues should be made via the Estates Customer Helpdesk.

The Customer Helpdesk is open from 8.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday and calls outside of these hours are diverted to the UCL Security Control Room.
We encourage all staff and students to report accidents, hazards and near misses when they happen, via riskNET, however where a maintenance response is required to rectify a hazard, the Estates Helpdesk should be contacted in the first instance.
