Safety Alert - Accessing Emergency Equipment

Safety inspections found that some emergency showers and eyewash stations were becoming hard to reach or blocked.
During recent inspections at several UCL buildings, Safety Services found that some emergency showers and eyewash stations were blocked or becoming hard to reach.
Poor housekeeping or changes in room layout mean that emergency equipment can become harder to reach or forgotten about.
Action to be taken
regular workplace inspections must be carried out to ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained
emergency equipment must be reached easily
clear signs must be in place so staff and students can get help quickly.
