UCL Health and Safety Objectives 2017/2018

The health and safety objectives for UCL for the 2017/2018 academic year are stated below.

Heads of Department are required to determine what actions they are to take in order to meet these and their own objectives.

Objective 1


100 Wellbeing Champions will be appointed and provided with the skills and knowledge to be effective locally, this will be delivered through the Wellbeing Champion Development programme in the 2017/18 academic year. Each Faculty and Professional Services area will hold a Health and Wellbeing event in the 2017/18 academic year.  Details of Wellbeing Champions to be recorded by Departments on the riskNET Responsible Persons Register.

Objective 2


Departments with a Responsible Person Register in riskNET to have implemented suitable arrangements for keeping them up to date and accurate (outside of annual validation).

Objective 3


Departments[1] to have achieved 100% of "T100 baseline" 6 months from the initial assessment report and to have in place a departmental safety plan for achievement of "T100 Level 1" 12 months post baseline completion.

Objective 4


Departments to achieve a quarter on quarter increase in    

     a.the percentage of staff/postgraduates with a valid DSE assessment, and
     b.the percentage of incidents that are reviewed within the 10-day timeframe

with a target of 80% compliance or greater within 12 months.
