PGCert and PGDip Programmes

We offer taught courses with no independent research project, aimed at students who want to increase their knowledge without the time commitment of a full master's programme.

Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) and Certificate (PGCert) Programmes

These programmes are taught courses with no independent research project and are aimed at students who want to increase their knowledge and are looking for courses with less of a time commitment than a full master's programme. Both can be studied as standalone programmes, or as a stepping stone towards a full master's qualification.

Additionally, the PGDip offers a flexible learning path which allows students to complete the qualification over five years.

Risk, Disaster and Resilience PGDip

PGDip students undertake all of the taught modules but not the independent project on a Master's programme, to a total value of 120 credits. A PGDip option is available for all of the RDR Master's programmes.

PGDip fees are set at two-thirds of the fees for their corresponding Master's programmes, in line with comprising two-thirds of the course credits.

Students apply to the PGDip via the Risk, Disaster and Resilience MSc webpage.

Risk, and Disaster Reduction PGCert

Director: Dr Sarah Dryhurst
Duration: Part-time over 9 months; flexible up to 1 year

PGCert students undertake modules to the value of 60 credits: the four RDR core taught modules (15 credits each). The programme may be completed as a stand-alone PGCert, or it may be used as a stepping stone towards subsequent completion of a PGDip or Master's.

For more information and application, see the programme page on the UCL Prospectus website.
