Annual Reports

In these reports, we highlight the achievements and progress of the UCL Department of Risk and Disaster Reduction (RDR) in the respective academic year; as we continue our vision for the department to lead and coordinate UCL research, knowledge exchange with industry and humanitarian agencies, and advanced teaching in risk and disaster reduction.

We are proud to share the first annual report as a full academic department. The 2023-24 report highlights breakthroughs in research, teaching and public engagement, including advances in early warning systems, climate adaptation and migration. It also celebrates the first graduating cohort of the Global Humanitarian Studies BSc and the 10th Risk, Disaster and Resilience MSc cohort, reflecting RDR’s commitment to educating future leaders.
