DASHing from Violence: Deficiencies in risk assessment tools in evaluating cultural factors of abuse among migrant women.
This project will give essential attention to migrant women experiencing all forms of domestic abuse in the UK and how DASH fails them. I aim to highlight the failures of DASH in quelling instances of domestic abuse amongst migrant women, while also working to
develop a more effective and applicable tool for these demographics.
This research project asks: ‘How and why risk assessment tools are ineffective in evaluating cultural factors of domestic abuse amongst migrant women, and how a tool better equipped to address these specific instances can be developed?’
