A statistical study of earthquake recurrence rates on shallow active faults

The aim of this project is to apply statistical techniques to the understanding of seismic loading to inform and help current understanding on earthquake recurrence rates in shallow crustal faults. The study will concentrate on the Central Apennines region in Italy, a region where the tectonics are relatively well understood with one of the most complete records of historical earthquakes worldwide.
