IAEM Scholarship Opportunities for BSc, Master's and PhD Students

As part of its 25th Anniversary celebrations in 2025, the IAEM Scholarship Programme is offering two special awards:

Dr E.L. Quarantelli Scholarship for Doctoral Research Students – $10,000

This prestigious award, named in honour of Dr E.L. Quarantelli, a pioneering scholar in disaster research and emergency management, recognises exceptional academic potential and commitment to the field. Dr Quarantelli’s contributions, many housed at the University of Delaware Disaster Research Center, have significantly shaped the discipline. This $10,000 scholarship is available to doctoral research students who fully complete the Graduate Student application, provide all required materials, and submit an additional essay project. Applicants who are not selected for this award will automatically be considered for the 2025 IAEM Graduate Student Scholarship.

Robert C. Bohlmann, CEM, Scholarship for Service in Emergency Management

In addition to this special award, the IAEM offers annual scholarships for full-time undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in emergency management, disaster risk reduction, or closely related fields. Named in honour of IAEM Scholarship Programme co-founder Robert C. Bohlmann, CEM, this undergraduate scholarship will be awarded to the full-time undergraduate student who achieves the highest score under the scholarship rating system in 2025.
