Dr Punam Yadav to Moderate UN Discussion on Information Integrity

Dr Punam Yadav will moderate a discussion with UN Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications, Melissa Fleming, on strengthening information integrity in the humanitarian context.

Dr Punam Yadav, Associate Professor in Humanitarian Studies and Director of the Humanitarian Institute at the UCL Department of Risk and Disaster Reduction (RDR), will moderate a high-level UN discussion on Strengthening Information Integrity in the Humanitarian Context on 9 April 2025 at 4:30 PM (BST).
The event, co-sponsored by the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) and the International Studies Association (ISA) UNAI Collaboration Committee, will feature Melissa Fleming, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications, as the keynote speaker. Fleming leads the UN’s Department of Global Communications, which informs global audiences about global challenges and builds support for the UN’s goals. Under her leadership, the Department developed the UN Global Principles for Information Integrity, which provide a blueprint for creating healthy information ecosystems.
Dr Yadav is a leading scholar in Feminist Peace Research and Gender and Disaster Studies. She serves as Chair of the ISA-UNAI Collaborations Committee and has made significant contributions to scholarship on gender, conflict, and disaster.
