New vacancy: Associate Professor in Humanitarian Science or Humanitarian Data Science

We are recruiting an Associate Professor in Humanitarian Science or Humanitarian Data Science, covering applied computational and statistical modelling, big data, geospatial analysis or remote sensing, in a humanitarian context.

This purpose of this permanent role is to carry out research, teaching and administration within the IRDR, especially in the areas of humanitarian science or humanitarian data science, covering applied computational or statistical modelling, big data, geospatial analysis or remote sensing, in a humanitarian context, and to contribute to curriculum development and teaching on the new BSc Global Humanitarian Studies.
This is an open-ended academic position, available immediately, and appointment will be made at Associate Professor (Grade 9) level.
The postholder should hold a PhD and have a track record of high-quality research especially in the areas of applied computational or statistical modelling, big data, geospatial analysis or remote sensing, preferably in a humanitarian context. They should have teaching experience and the ability to deliver public presentations, as well as the ability to write clearly for a range of audiences. They should be committed to high-quality research, teaching, and fostering a positive learning environment for students.
