IRDR Members and Alumni Dinner, 21 Nov 2017

7pm, Tuesday 21st November 2017, UCL Haldane Room UCL IRDR staff, students, alumni and members are all cordially invited to the annual IRDR alumni dinner at 7pm on Tuesday 21st of November 2017.

The theme of the dinner is "New Hazards and Communicating Risk" with a focus on Space Weather, in celebration of our new MSc programme Space Risks and Disaster Reduction.

The guest of honour will be Prof. Alan Smith, until recently the Head of the Department of Space and Climate Physics. Prof. Smith will present the IRDR Masters Project Prize, the IRDR Masters Student Prize, and the IRDR MRes Student Prize to the class of 2016/17. During the dinner, there will be a roundtable discussion on the topic of communicating science and space weather risks chaired by Prof. Lucie Green of the Mullard Space Science Laboratory, presenter on the BBC shows The Sky at Night and Stargazing Live, and expert on space weather. 

Dinner will be a two-course meal (menu below), tickets are £40 for IRDR members and alumni, £30 for recent graduates (2016/17 class) and £25 for current students and IRDR postdocs.

We encourage you to buy your ticket as soon as possible as places are limited, the deadline for buying tickets is 5pm on Friday 10/11/2017.
