Dr Mohammad Shamsudduha (Shams), Professor of Water Crisis and Risk Reduction, is a leading expert in hydrogeology, specialising in water risks to public health, sustainable development, and climate resilience.
His extensive fieldwork across South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa has contributed to understanding the connections between water quality, climate change, and human health outcomes. Shams advocates for innovative applications of digital technology, remote sensing, and geospatial big data to enhance community resilience and address climate-induced water challenges. His commitment to bridging the humanitarian-development divide has shaped long-term solutions to protracted crises and transboundary water conflicts.
In his inaugural lecture, Shams will share his impactful research journey and contributions to addressing water crises and promoting resilience.
