GRRIPP presents the STEM Challenge this summer from Monday 19th to Friday 23rd of June. This multi-day workshop is designed to give you the skills and knowledge to create your own solutions to the issues surrounding gender equity in disaster risk, climate change impacts and sustainable development. From the workshop you will be able to introduce gender responsiveness into research projects (such as masters dissertations).
Preliminary Workshop Schedule:
Monday 19th June: 10:00 - 16:00
Tuesday to Thursday 20th - 22nd June: times will be organised and confirmed according to your own schedule
Friday 23rd June : 14:00 - 18:00
Once registration for this event has closed, you will receive an updated agenda and timetable.
More info:
The workshops will help put gender responsiveness in context and inspire you to resolve complex issues. Working in teams, each team will have a facilitator to mentor progress, so by the end of the week you can present your action plan. All participants who complete the Challenge will be awarded a certificate of attendance.
You are required to attend in person on Monday 19th and Friday 23rd of June. (Some travel and subsistence bursaries will be available.) During the week, meetings and discussions will be online, arranged around your own timetable.
The Challenge Workshop is open to all UCL students with an interest in disasters, resilience, climate change and sustainable development. We especially encouraged those in the STEM disciplines to join us.
Further details will be sent on registration.
