Our series of career-focused IRDR enterprise workshops complement our academic programmes and enable students to identify their career goals and get best prepared to achieve them.

This in-person workshop will help you develop your entrepreneurial thinking and start to recognise and use your entrepreneurial skills. We will explore this from a global humanitarian impact perspective.

By the end of the workshop you’ll be better able to:

  • develop ideas that create value and make a difference to others;
  • identify stakeholders who can help you move an idea forward; and
  • set goals to progress your enterprising activity.

Programme

  • Being enterprising: the skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur and an introduction to the Lean Start-Up process.
  • Introduction to the Business Model Canvas
  • Business Model Canvas activity
  • Identifying the stakeholders to work with and managing them
  • Business plan introduction and setting goals
  • Final discussion and reflection

The workshop will provide plenty of opportunity for discussions and group working. Because you will be taking a product through from idea to pitch in groups, you must be available to attend the full workshop in person.

The event is only open to UCL students.

Places are limited, so if you book a place and are unable to attend, please cancel your booking in Eventbrite or email irdr-comms@ucl.ac.uk.

Please note UCL has current guidelines for keeping safe on campus, which include wearing a face covering. Please read and take a lateral flow test before attending in person. If you feel unwell, please do not attend.
