UCL IRDR, UCL Institute for Global Health and the Human Security Centre come together to present a series of webinars focusing on the importance of space for life on Earth. This series explores the latest developments in space medicine, remote health and disaster sciences.
The first event in this series will provide a broad overview of the subject area, with the speakers addressing and discussing the issues presented by medicine in space and remote environments on Earth, and the wider contribution of the space sector to supporting medical care – including through satellite technology.
Confirmed speakers include:
- Prof Tony Redmond OBE – Founder and Chair, UK-Med. Emeritus Professor of International Emergency Medicine at the Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute, University of Manchester. President of the World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine.
- Major Dr Natalie Taylor – British Army doctor. Co-lead of ‘Ice Maiden’ expedition, the first all-women team to travel across Antarctica on foot.
