UCL launches Responsible Innovation for Industry Professional Short Course
31 March 2022
How can we align technology and innovation with the needs of society? UCL's new 6-week, online, short-course aims to help individuals and organisations recognise the need for socially responsible solutions to some of the biggest challenges facing society.
By developing skills in creative problem-solving, public engagement, and ethics, this new course offers a foundational understanding of Responsible Innovation and provides an introduction to the AREA Framework, with a focus on the Anticipation and Reflection elements.
The course is taught by Dr Stephen Hughes who is responsible for the delivery of UCL’s Responsible Innovation programme to 13 EPSRC-funded Centres for Doctoral Training. His research explores cultures of responsibility in research contexts and the role that emotions play in researchers’ conceptions of responsibility.
