UCL Research

The Office of the Vice-Provost (Research, Innovation & Global Engagement) is responsible for coordinating UCL’s submissions to the Research Excellence Framework (REF), the system for assessing the quality of research in higher education institutions in the UK

UCL was the top-rated university in the UK for research strength in the Research Excellence Framework. Preparations are now underway for our submission to REF2021. Here you’ll find information for UCL researchers on how we’re preparing for the next assessment, the information we need, and what researchers need to do.

Information about applying for research funding, managing research contracts and complying with funders evaluation requirements can be found on the Research Services website. Information about registering for IDOX or using ResearchFish can be found in Support for staff.
