UCL Research Domains

Developmental Neuroscience

Developmental neuroscience is an interdisciplinary scientific field encompasses basic neurobiology, human development to cognitive neuroscience.

The area holds the potential to increase our understanding on a number of issues, such as; how the human brain develops from in utero, through adolescence to ageing; the relation between changes in the brain and behaviour, plasticity, and cognitive development; and, the diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to development.

Developmental neuroscience brings together a range of different approaches, including behavioural studies, genetics, neural circuits, computational modelling, imaging, cell biology and psychology.

Our goal is to coordinate the research across UCL, bring in new disciplines and expertise to address bigger questions to enable UCL to be a world leader in this field.
