UCL Internal Funding Opportunities

Social Science Plus
UCL's Collaborative Social Science Domain's Social Science Plus funding scheme offers  £10,000 to support an innovative, challenge-driven, cross-disciplinary pilot project that will lay the basis for a major external funding application. Applications must be led by a Principal Investigator who is a social scientist based in any UCL dept. or faculty. Further details

UCL Grand Challenges
Grand Challenges funding supports cross-disciplinary collaborations that address societal problems. They offer strategic funding, and 'bottom up' funding opportunities for novel ideas, collaborations and approaches.  Further details

UCL 2034 Funding Opportunities
UCL 2034 is the University's 20-year strategy, aimed at steering UCL towards its vision of transforming 'how the world is understood, how knowledge is created and shared and the way that global problems are solved'. As part of UCL 2034, there are several funding schemes that seek to develop the strategy, focusing on Global Engagement, Public Policy, and Innovation & Enterprise. Further details

Octagon Small Grants Fund
The Octagon Small Grants Fund, formerly the Joint Faculty Institute of Graduate Studies (JFIGS) fund, provides financial support (up to £1,500) for a range of interdisciplinary research activities led by graduate students and/or staff in across the Faculties of Arts & Humanities and Social & Historical Sciences, and the School of Slavonic & East European Studies.
