The Galton Laboratory was established in 1904 for research into Eugenics and was based at UCL. To support UCL's move to address the legacy of Eugenics at the University, Special Collections have been cataloguing printed and archive collections relating to the work of the Laboratory. This session will show some of the materials relating to women who worked and published at the Laboratory in the early and mid 20th Century, with librarians, archivists and researchers on hand to help contextualise the material on display.
UCL Rare-Books Club aims to promote UCL’s Special Collections for research, and to facilitate conversations between curators, research students and professional researchers working on the collections, but sessions are open to all. They are programmed and chaired by Dr. Tabitha Tuckett, UCL Rare-Books And Academic Liaison Librarian. Sessions take place weekly on Wednesdays in July, August and early September.
Details of the full programme will be posted on Eventbrite shortly. Check our UCL Rare-Books Club Eventbrite listings.
