George Orwell as a journalist

UCL Special Collections holds both the George Orwell Archive and the George Orwell Collection of over 2,000 printed editions of Orwell's works. This session offers the opportunity to see archival and published items relating to Orwell's work as a journalist, some of them newly acquired. Materials will be selected by Head Of Special Collections Sarah Aitchison, Head Of Archives Becky Sims, and Head Of Rare Books Erika Delbecque, who will all be on hand to discuss the collections. This event complements the summer programme of events and prizes organised by the Orwell Foundation, also based at UCL.

UCL Rare-Books Club aims to promote UCL’s Special Collections for research, and to facilitate conversations between curators, research students and professional researchers working on the collections, but sessions are open to all. They are programmed and chaired by Dr. Tabitha Tuckett, UCL Rare-Books And Academic Liaison Librarian. Details of the full programme will be posted on Eventbrite shortly. Check our UCL Rare-Books Club Eventbrite listings.
