David Alexander speaks at national conference in Ireland and publishes in the Irish Times

On 18th October 2017 David Alexander gave a talk at the annual conference of the Institution of Fire Engineers, Republic of Ireland branch, in Dublin.

He spoke about "managing fire and emergencies in high-rise buildings", with special reference to the terrorist attacks in New York City in 2001 and the Grenfell Tower fire in London this year. On the same day David published an opinion article in the Irish Times arguing that the Irish Government was right to shut schools in advance of Storm Ophelia. The article
