I work on histories of religious conversion, early notions of race and difference, and the forging of empire in the early modern Iberian Atlantic. I hold a BA in History from the University of Leicester, and a MA and PhD in Iberian and Latin American Studies from Birkbeck, University of London. Before joining the SPRC in 2026, I was an Associate Lecturer in the History of Iberia and the Iberian world, c. 1450-1800 in the Department of History at UCL, and an Associate Tutor in the School of Creative Arts, Culture and Communication at Birkbeck, University of London. My research has been funded by The Leverhulme Trust and Birkbeck, University of London.
