We are looking for healthy volunteers aged 18 years and older who would like to participate in a study to evaluate the reliability of threshold-tracking technique for transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).

TMS is a non-invasive neurophysiological technique that is widely used in research and routine clinical practice. It involves application of mild painless magnetic impulses to the head which evoke small twitches of the hand muscles.

To be eligible you should be in good physical and mental health, have no history of seizures or any metal implants in your body (except for dental fillings).

  • There will be two study visits, separated by at least one week, each lasting 1-2 hours.
  • On the first day, we will check your eligibility to take part in the study. If you are eligible, we will perform TMS twice on the same day.
  • We may ask you to return at least one week later and repeat the same TMS protocol.

For the costs of time, travel and incidentals you will receive £10 as reimbursement.
