How To Apply

Information for applicants and referees for postgraduate study and other opportunities at UCLQ.

For each opportunity in Postgraduate Study at UCLQ, the application process will be handled by UCL Portico. Here, you can find more specific advice on how to apply for each programme we offer, as well as information on deadlines and advice for referees. 

Centre for Doctoral Training

The EPSRC CDT in Delivering Quantum Technologies offers a broad 4-year programme of training and research leading to a PhD. Please see this page for more information about the CDT and this page for information on how to apply.

Other PhD Programmes

If you are applying for a PhD opportunity offered directly by a UCLQ researcher, please follow the application procedure laid out in the advert. Similarly, if you are applying via the physics, computer science or EEE departmental portals, please follow their application instructions.
If you are reaching out to a member of UCLQ to enquire about potentially arranging a project and funding application, please include a short statement in your email. In particular, you could include

  • A brief introduction
  • Proposed area of research and your experience/background in the chosen research area
  • How your chosen supervisor’s experience or knowledge is relevant

Masters Courses

Applications for the MSc in Quantum Technologies must be submitted through the main UCL online applications portal. For specific information - including entrance requirements, personal statement guidelines, and deadlines - please check the main prospectus page. Summer Studentships

UCLQ does not currently have funding for summer studentships for this year but if are interested in this kind of opportunities you can check the EPSRC funding at this link: https://www.ucl.ac.uk/epsrc-doctoral-training/epsrc-vacation-bursaries and contact any supervisor you’d be interested in working with.
