About this event

Following COP26 and the Glasgow Climate Pact urging wealthy countries to put more money on the table for climate finance, there is more need than ever for developed nations to meet their $100bn commitment to support developing countries to tackle the impacts of climate change. From adapting to growing climate risks to compensating for loss and damage, nations that have done the least to cause climate change will feel the most severe impacts.

Description

In this discussion event, the COP26 Universities Network brings together a diverse panel of experts to debate how the public and private sectors can work together to scale up the needed finance; ensure countries can access the finance they need; and how we can transparently monitor finance flows.

About the speakers

Chaired by Felicia Jackson, Teaching Fellow - Global Energy and Climate Policy at the Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy (CISD), SOAS, the discussion panel includes:

Ryan Phillips, MSc Student, UCL and COP26 Delegate for Saint Kitts and Nevis

Rob Moore, Head of Finance, Technology & Capacity Building, UK Cabinet Office
