Advice and support

We offer support to all staff and research students at UCL - including early career researchers, senior academics and professional services staff members. We work with individuals, teams and departments to embed public engagement into life at UCL.

One-to-one advice sessions

Our team of public engagement professionals are here to support you to develop your ideas and projects. Our one-to-one advice sessions are a chance for an informal discussion about your plans with a member of our team.

One-to-one advice sessions are particularly helpful to:

  • Provide advice, support and feedback on public engagement project plans.
  • Provide guidance on public and patient involvement (PPI) activities.
  • Give you practical insights into delivering public engagement activities online or in-person.
  • Help you to identify the target groups and communities you may want to work with.
  • Support you to develop public engagement, patient involvement or co-production aspects of research grant proposals.
  • Provide feedback on draft research grant proposals with an element of public engagement.
  • Discuss plans to evaluate the success and impact of your projects.
  • Find out more about the Co-Production and Public Engagement Team and how we work.
  • Discuss Public Engagement training and our offer.
  • Connect you to other teams at UCL who may be able to support you.

Our advice sessions take place on Tuesday mornings between 10:00 - 12:00. Please get in touch if this doesn't work for you and we would be happy to find an alternative date.

Between Monday 19 January and Monday 16 February we have additional slots available on Thursday afternoons between 14:00 - 16:00 to support applications to our Public Engagement Seed Fund
